The Reproductive Health Training Center (RHTC) supports enhancing healthcare providers’ capacity to offer sexual and reproductive health services on the basis of the rights, without any stigmatization or discriminatory attitudes towards girls and women with special needs.

For this purpose, the RHTC in partnership with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova distributed more than 1 500 copies of the Information Handbook on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Related Rights for family doctors throughout the country.

This information material is approved by the National Public Health Agency pursuant to the order of the Ministry of Health No 524 of 01.06.2012.

This material is an information handbook for family doctors, Youth Friendly Healthcare Center staff, gynecologists from the Specialized Outpatient Medical Assistance, and other healthcare system staff interested in the topic. The handbook includes the information on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) which is useful for the healthcare system staff when they need to assist beneficiaries with disabilities they work with, offering access to high-quality information and services in the sphere of SRHR.

The topics in this information handbook are related to the fundamental issues in this sphere and are presented as a logical sequence covering various aspects related to the legislation regulating sexual rights, healthcare services, puberty, contraception, sexually transmitted diseases and HIV, pregnancy and reproduction, and personal safety.

It was distributed via the Healthcare Centers in each district of the country from February to April 2023 pursuant to the Provision of the Ministry of Health No 892-d of 29.12.2022.

This activity was implemented within the project “Inclusive and Accessible for All: A Multi-Component Approach to Advancing the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of Women and Girls with Disabilities” with the support of the Embassy of Finland in Bucharest, within the Fund for Local Cooperation.
